Assembly Seniors helping little ones.

Here is another example of our seniors stepping up and and helping with our little ones. Sharing learning at assembly is always important and having the seniors run the assemblies so part of their leadership roles.

Staff prayers

We had to bring some one to the table that has inspired us.
We had many staff bring family photos and share their stories about why.
Soem staff spoke of the children in their classes and how they inspire them to teach each day.

Diwali Day 2015

What a special day this was for our school. This year we wanted the children to really understand the traditions and story behind this special day. Our Teacher Aide shared some of the stories with the children at assembly and all children got to wear some thing form their own culture.

The staff got into it as always and we had loads of sweets and fun!

Athletics Day 2015

What a great day and all the children had a HUGE amount of fun running, throwing and jumping.
Great to see the parent support there and the fact that the teacher won their race against the children and parents made it all worth while!
Back into training for next year!

Buddy Writing Room 3

We all know the benefits of support and for our little ones learning to write having the seniors there is an excellent way to build up knowledge but also develop their writing skills.
The senior child learn form this experience as well with leadership and cementing their writing knowledge by teaching.

School Gala 2015

What an event this was and the whole community helped out in some way.
Preparing food, manning stalls, getting wet on the sponge throw from teachers to support staff, from parents to the parishioners the whole school and community were there to give back.
The new entrant playground was the goals and we are looking forward to the up date for our little ones.

Year 3 keen writers!!!!

It is great to see such keen writers come down form Rom 12. Especially as they were all boys!
They were writing persuasive pieces based on a topic that they chose which they said they thought was a great idea.

It meant that you were writing about something you felt some thing about.

Sharing shed 2015

Today our whole school were there when we opened the SHARING SHED.

The sharing shed was opened and blessed this morning by Father Tevaga.
All parents can now just drop good quality house hold items into the shed each day. It will be open every day before and after school and locked on weekends apart from after Mass for an hour.
The idea is that we are giving and supporting Monte Cecilia House which has been set up to support families in need.

Our students will organise and run the shed. This is another way our school and parish community can outreach.

Good Luck Keira.

Principal for the Day Mrs Vanessa!

Vanessa had a great day doing all the things that principals do. She drank milo, read the paper and gave out stickers!

Thanks Vanessa for your help on Friday.

Prayers in Room 9

Prayer at school is a very important part of the children’s day.
As a rule we prayer at the start of the day, before we eat and then at the end of the day. Children love to lead this and teachers build up a great knowledge and understanding of the children and their needs through listening to their prayers at this time. Often children will express and share very important information about how they see the world or what is happening in their personal lives and they find it conforming to do this in the classroom environment.

Prayer is simply being with God and having a conversation. Children need to know early in their lives that they can talk to God just like they talk to Mum, Dad, or a best friend. They need to understand that God is there and attentive to what they have to say. Instead of putting them on hold or playing a recorded message, God is always willing to listen - whether they are on the playground, at a friend's house, in the car, or at church.
