Prayer at school is a very important part of the
children’s day.
As a rule we prayer at the start of the day, before
we eat and then at the end of the day. Children love to lead this and teachers
build up a great knowledge and understanding of the children and their needs
through listening to their prayers at this time. Often children will express
and share very important information about how they see the world or what is
happening in their personal lives and they find it conforming to do this in the
classroom environment.
Prayer
is simply being with God and having a conversation. Children need to know early
in their lives that they can talk to God just like they talk to Mum, Dad, or a
best friend. They need to understand that God is there and attentive to what
they have to say. Instead of putting them on hold or playing a recorded
message, God is always willing to listen - whether they are on the playground,
at a friend's house, in the car, or at church.
