Hazards in the playground

This week I have been looking into what the hazards in our school are. It is so important that we are constantly looking at making sure our children are safe and free from possible hazards that are often overlooked in the school grounds.
Children will just rush onto a playground and not see what possibility could go wrong so it is our job as a whole staff to make sure that we are looking and constantly checking that our equipment and classrooms are free from possible hazards.
Our caretaker checks the schools ground every morning and ticks off the areas that are free from hazards. He also deals with any issues that he sees straight away before he starts his day of school maintenance. Our teacher also inform him through a daily contact book if they see anything aswell.

A school cant guarantee that children wont hurt them selves however it can guarantee that it will do it’s best to try and limit that number of accidents by having a proactive approach to Health and Safety in the school where all staff are on the lookout.
